Who we are
We’re a small team of real people building My Good Rental from firsthand experience in the short-term rental industry. Our family's unique resort was built for gathering with cabins, boats, an on-site bar, and wedding venue. It was an awesome experience but there was no clean way to book these types of reservations. After years of seeing families, friends, and groups juggle disconnected bookings, complicated software, and scattered planning, we believed there had to be a better way.
This is where the idea of My Good Rental originated.
In a world increasingly driven by screens and tech we believe real human connection matters more than ever. Time spent together with family and friends isn’t disappearing—it’s something people are actively searching for. Bonfires, lake weekends, reunions, weddings, and trips with the people you love are the moments that stay with you.
Our goal is to help hosts create more of those experiences while giving travelers a easier way to plan and book them.

The problem
We needed a better solution for our travelers, so we decided to build one ourselves. What started at our family’s Northwoods resort quickly grew into a multi-year effort to create a booking platform designed for connected group getaways and multi-rental stays. My Good Rental brings rentals, guests, and experiences together into one seamless booking experience — making group travel feel EASY and FUN for both hosts and travelers.
My Good Rental started with our family’s lakeside resort in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Our family resort taught us something important — people are craving real connection and when family + friend groups come together it's a special experience. But planning group trips across multiple rentals can quickly become overwhelming.
After years of hosting travelers at our family’s lakeside resort, we saw how disconnected group trip planning was and there was no real solution on the market to help. Our travelers expressed their personal stress trying to plan for their group and we understood. As we hosted weddings, reunions, and large group stays, we saw and felt firsthand how difficult it was to organize multiple cabins, boats, and activities together.

Josh
Alyssia brings the creative vision and attention-to-detail behind My Good Rental, combining her background in design, marketing, and hospitality to shape the platform’s experience and brand. Passionate about connection, travel, and creating meaningful experiences, she helps ensure My Good Rental feels personal, approachable, and built with care.
Fun fact: Josh and Alyssia are a husband-wife team that met in high school in 2013. They are from Wisconsin but now live in San Diego, CA. They spend their summers back in Eagle. River, WI at their family’s resort where it all started. Besides working on My Good Rental, they love to cook together and travel in their sprinter van with their family.
Josh joined the Marine Corps right out of high school before transitioning into software development and technology. After seeing the challenges of managing family rentals firsthand, he set out to build a better solution for hosts and group stays. Today, Josh leads development at My Good Rental with a focus on creating thoughtful, reliable software built for real people.

We believe some of life’s best moments happen when family and friends gather together at the lake, around a bonfire, on a weekend getaway, or in a place that creates lasting memories. In a world increasingly driven by screens and technology, we believe meaningful connection and shared experiences matter more than ever.
